Having been a reader here for a couple of years, I have seen the forum grow larger than I ever imagined. It has been very inspiring. The mission of DKos has expanded with this growth, and it's all been good, in my mind.
I was drawn here originally by the high quality of the writing. Way above the median out here on the internets. One recent diary, 'I Remember 13' stands out as an exemplar of that mindboggling combination of short form literary skill and emotional immediacy that great blog writing fosters.
Anyway, to my point. One of the developments is posting by elected representatives. Personally, I'm still uncynical enough to feel honored by it. I know others feel differently.
Everyone is free to express their opinion, and I'm always interested in what the different reactions are. How people react to these posts tells me what the mood of the forum is.
But one real problem is that when someone posts a criticism, or a compliment, then someone disagrees, the first poster has to come back and expand or justify, and the whole thread gets taken up by a few people with their back and forth tedious arguments.
The new thread format seems to have less indentation than previous, making this problem worse.
I just wish more folk would simply state whether they agree or disagree, and leave their comment, and not feel like they have to come back and reply to every comment opposed. It would make it a lot easier for me, which is all I really care about, how easy things are for me. This is my first diary this year.
