Dear George and Laura-
I've been a good, taxpaying American citizen since birth. I am 28 years old and I live in one of your most loyal states-Oklahoma. Fortunately for me, I live in the one liberal city in the state-Norman. I grew up in a relatively Republican household and fortunately, learned how to think for myself. Now, I'm not knocking my mom for how she raised me, but I am glad that I learned not to blindly support my government.
But, seeing as though I'm a good American (well, maybe not according to you), I think it's my right to ask you some questions.
First my questions to you, George:
I am wondering what the HELL you're planning on doing. Do you really think that nuking Iran, or even going down that path of thinking, is going to accomplish anything except death and destruction? Do you think the world will sit idly by and let you and the rest of your band of merry cowboys destroy a country based upon nothing more than your own delusions? Do you think this country will? Keep in mind, George, that you really didn't win 2004's election by a whole lot.
Now, you may think I'm being unfair for assuming that you think. America knows Cheney, Rove and Rumsfeld really tell you what to do. But seriously, are you willing to let them make you go down in history (if there's anyone left to write it) as the man who ended the world? I am a historian by training, and trust me, we won't be kind to you. Hell, historians even find things wrong with Lincoln, and he was a great President. You're not half the President he was.
I wonder how you sleep at night, knowing how much you divide this nation, divide families, communities, universities. You've ruined families with your cowboy war, and ruined many a family dinner (including several of my own family dinners) because your policies make politics so divisive.
I am only 28 years old, but I am scared that I'll never have a family of my own to raise. And if I do manage to, I fear I'll never see my grandchildren. Thank you, you so-called Uniter. Trust me, I'm watching, waiting, thinking and gathering info-I'm a historian and as God as my witness, you'll never have a legacy if I can help it.
Oh, and by the way, get off your Christian high horse-if there is a God, he's probably pretty pissed at what you've done in his name.
To Laura: you seem like a sensible woman, traffic fatality notwithstanding. How do you live with yourself knowing what your husband does? I'm just curious. If my husband was one of the most hated men in the world, and rightly so, I'd divorce his ass. You're just as guilty because you support it.
