I've been posting and lurking and posting again on DKOS for a year or so. But today something was different. Today DKOS changed my life.
UPDATE:OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD !!!I just went 'contractor status' at my "real" job in order to spend more time on my garage-shop biodiesel business. What a crazy day it's been! I had no idea waking up this morning that come 2:45 PM it would look like this! My heart is pounding and plams sweating.
My goal is nothing less than to have a community-run fryer-grease or virgin oil biodiesel plant in every city and town across this great nation. Maybe even put it right on anywhere-America Main Street, in the very stores Wal-Mart destroyed. Las Vegas would be a great place to start, with it's immense fryer grease density, and we could have a design put together in time to chat it up at Yearlykos. Anyone out there interested let me know in the comments.
WE'RE TAKING THIS NATION BACK, TOGETHER. THANK YOU FOR INSTILLING THE HOPE AND CONFIDENCE. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I sat down with a cup of coffee and crusied over to the rec list. As I usually do. It started with OrangeClouds115 's Revenge on Bush:
Do you want to fight too? You want to hurt Bush? Withdraw from the economy. Just withdraw. Shop locally. Donate your extra stuff to charity. Get things from Freecycle.org or buy them used. Don't enter a Target. Don't enter a mall. Use a landline. Fuck cell phones that have to be replaced every two years. Walk or ride your bike. Don't drive. If you need a bike, get a used one. Borrow books, DVDs, and magazines from the library. Buy organic if you can afford it. Especially corn, soy, papaya, and canola. Non-organic is support for Monsanto, frankenfoods, and Roundup.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. There isn't one item in there I haven't wanted to start doing. Why haven't I started? Today I started. Thank you OrangeClouds. Enjoy your locally produced organic wine. I know I will.
Then, I read with some consternation enthusiast's decline+fall of the US. Confused. Shocked. Disappointed. Agitated. Hurt. How could I feel all of these at once? HOW COULD WE HAVE LET IT COME THIS FAR?
nyceve's blue cross' pillage of the underprivleged sent me to the bathroom to cry. At work. I'm not kidding (and no, I'm not on medication).
I pulled myself together enough to get through London Yank's Thinking of Soonergrunt and I voted for "Attack! Attack! Attack the lying GOP wherever it runs!" in the poll.
Then I read Representative Slaughter's follow-up to Representative Pelosi's BushCo lambasting and I realized OUR REPRESENTATIVES ARE AMOUNG US, talking to us and listening to us as, and as Slaughter mentioned, legislating with us:
"...we are going to read every single one of your comments and feedback and do our best to incorporate them in our strategy to confront a Majority Party that has sold out America to its wealthy friends on Washington's K Street and big oil companies."
WOW.
Now I am filled with hope.
Thank you OrangeClouds, nyceve, molly bloom, London Yanks, and Representative Slaughter. Today you made a difference. Today you changed a life.
