If Conrad Burns hasn't been shaking in his boots yet, he is today.
A poll released today says I would beat Burns, 48 to 42 percent.
We've surged ahead of Senator Burns--gaining nearly 10 points in just the last couple of weeks head-to-head against our Republican opponent.
Make no mistake about it: I am the best Democrat to take on Burns in November.
I'm the best man for the job. As President of the Montana Senate, I helped lead lawmakers in one of the strongest legislative sessions in Montana history.
We fully funded the Children's Health Insurance Program for the first time, protected access for hunters, anglers, and hikers, encouraged renewable energy development, and funded quality education for students across the state. All while living within our means by balancing the budget and eliminating taxes for 13,000 small businesses.
I have a proven record of delivering for Montana families that I will draw on in a match-up with Senator Burns this fall.
And, I can stand toe to toe with Conrad Burns on ethics and hold him accountable for his dealings with Jack Abramoff. Burns has hired a lawyer, but he can't hide from the truth. Montanans are sick of his corrupt deals and political games.
In 1998 and 2002 I won decisive victories in a rural Montana Senate district. We won by working hard, staying true to our values, and because voters were tired of the mess Republicans had made in Helena.
We have the same game plan to win this year--with the strong turn in the tide we've witnessed today, we have the momentum to make it happen.
The same poll released today shows the Democratic Primary Election in a dead heat, within the margin of error. A third of voters remain undecided with 35 days to go until the election.
We can beat Burns, but I need your help. I need your financial support to keep the campaign going strong and keep this momentum growing as the June 6 Primary Election draws near.

I hope I can count on your support.
