Put on your thinking cap; how you can help Jim Nelson.
In Georgia's 1st district, Republican Jack Kingston is slated to win easily. No one probably cares. His campaign strategy is to go on every political comedy show and keep a high profile. He has appeared on Bill Maher, The Colbert Report, and got his assed kicked by
Triumph the Wonder Dog. He never has really had any opposition, and his opponents have never have had any money. And this has never been more true now. In January, challenger Jim Nelson had $8,000. Kingston had
$800,000. But as Patrick Kennedy recently showed, one screw-up can damage the image of a campaign. Kingston's high profile canvassing could backfire. He should at least have to work for it.
Here's your job:
Raw Story has a "Ask Congress Series" where they will forward questions to Jack Kingston's office tomorrow. Do some research on Kingston, use your political knowledge, and see if you can get a question or two in there.
Please be civil, and follow these rules:
To submit a question:
For consideration, please make your question brief and respectful. Feel free, however, to ask the hard questions. Editors will forward the questions we deem the most thoughtful, interesting or best representative of a large number of others to the Congressman's office on Sunday, May 7, 2006. The Congressman will then respond to these questions in a RAW STORY feature the following week.
Submit your questions to askcongress@rawstory.com. To avoid confusion, you must include the name of the Congressperson your question is addressed to in the subject line of your e-mail. In order to be considered for publication, your question must include your first name, as well as the city and state from which you are writing. Last names will not be published.
Once you're done, post your question here in the comments section so people won't duplicate your question (and give you the glory you deserve). I'm including links so you can get some info about the candidates, but most of you kossacks will end up trowling the web for the good stuff.
Thanks for the help.
