Mmmmmmm, boy, are all the Republicans at every level going to be under investigation by 11/2006?

Jeez, the Post doesn't even put false claims of WMD up that far in Section A - Ed.
The Air Force is investigating whether a two-star general (Maj. Gen. Jack J. Catton Jr., who is on active duty at Langley Air Force Base) violated military regulations by urging fellow Air Force Academy graduates to make campaign contributions to a Republican candidate (Bentley Rayburn, a recently retired Air Force general) for Congress in Colorado, Pentagon officials said yesterday.
"We are certainly in need of Christian men with integrity and military experience in Congress," Catton wrote.
Yeah, that whole Christian legislator thing is working out really well. I guess he forgot about Tom DeLay and Bob Ney and all their "good deeds". heh.
I have an idea! Howzabout we just get some competent and fair legislators and hold off on codifying every Christian tenet that these guys can't follow if it doesn't have "United States Code" in front of it?
Former Air Force lawyer, retired Brig. Gen. James W. Swanson, said the use of an official e-mail address "is probably an aggravator, but it isn't the essence of the offense."
"Clearly this country wants and needs an apolitical military," he said. "It sounds like an excess of enthusiasm, but I'd be surprised if there is not some sort of disciplinary or administrative action in this case."
Yes, they haven't politicized every department and every appointment and every policy enough, now have they? Yet the Republican candidates want to continue this disastrous course. I'm beginning to think these are the people who've failed history class and were let down by our schools. Our Founding Fathers would shudder at these candidates' ignorance.
But maybe Rayburn wasn't going to run on all that "rule of law" stuff. The tough military record thing just might work. One question though, do Republicans Swift-Boat™ their own?
