I was going to parody 'Every Breath you Take' by the Police to fit the scandal. Unfortunately I ran into a small problem: 95 percent of the song will remain unchanged.
Some other interesting coincidences:
The song is by The Police, we're approaching a police state.
The song's lyrics perfectly describe this administration's views of the right to privacy.
The song was released in 1983 (as 1984 was approaching), and we're approaching the level of personal surveillance detailed in George Orwell's book.
So I'll reproduce my pardoy below. My (very few) changes are in italics. If you want, instead of Sting, imagine Bush singing the lyrics.
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you
Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you
Oh, can't you see
You belong to me
How my power grab aches
With every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every call you make
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
Since I am here you'll disappear without a trace
I dream at night I can only pee on your face
You look around but it's me you can't replace
My heart's so cold and youlong for my disgrace
I keep crying look at, look at, me...
Oh, can't you see
You belong to me
How my power grab aches
With every breath you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every call you make
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
Every move you make
Every step you take
I'll be watching you
I'll be watching you
I'll be watching you
I'll be watching you
I'll be watching you...
