CNN hosted a smorgasborg of Republicans bashing Bush this Friday.
William Schneider has been seriously disillusioned since the first reports on the NSA spying scandal.
Ed Rollins has been ever-more-wary as he sees Bush heading for the toilet, and his client roster shrinking with indictments.
And Lou Dobbs, for all his posturing on immigration, has been bashing Bush almost daily, with relish, for many weeks now. They even tried to shut him up, which resulted in a petulant frenzy from the good-natured capitalist.
BushCo jumped the shark when they thought they could shut Lou Dobbs up.....
Here are some highlights from CNN's Bush-Bashing Republican festival yesterday. I only wish they had some of that cheesy theme music that is always ready to go.
DOBBS: [The President]'s going to address the nation on immigration Monday night. What's the motivation?
ED ROLLINS, FORMER WHITE HOUSE POLITICAL DIRECTOR: Well, he'll lose three more points if he does. That's not the motivation, but, you know, the reality is his erosion is coming by -- from conservatives and Republicans, as I've been talking about for three or four weeks now.....
So I don't think it's a very smart thing to do at this point in time.
Then Bill Schneider went at him on AC/360:
WILLIAM SCHNEIDER, CNN SENIOR POLITICAL ANALYST (voice-over): How bad has it gotten for President Bush? So bad it may be making his predecessor look better.
SCHNEIDER: Which president did a better job on the economy? Clinton by a mile -- for many Americans, the '90s were boom years.
SCHNEIDER: Clinton divided the country. So did Bush. Who do people think divided it more? Bush by a big margin -- a divider, not a uniter.
Then finally, from a very dispassionate observer, David Gergen:
GERGEN: At a certain point, these dogs don't hunt with the country. You know, I think the country's going to be -- it will help with conservatives. It will get them -- it will get them modestly up. But it's no way to rebuild a presidency. You can get maybe back up to the high 30s or even 34 with a strategy like that.
But you can't govern the country.
You can't get the big things done. You can sort of salvage a little bit, but that's not a governing strategy.
CNN, our BFF for the day.
With Scooter on the block, who's going to do the dirty work of calling the cable gabfests to complain about their portrayals of Dear Leader?
Is CNN going to listen to Tony Snow and change their news coverage of the President? They'll most likely laugh their asses off as they hang up on this partisan hack.
I don't think Karl's gonna have a good night's sleep for a long, long time. Thank you, CNN.
