Real History Lisa posted a recommended diary today entitled,
On Responsible Conspiracy Theory discussing not just a deleted 'rant' yesterday from Armando, but also what constitutes a "well-founded" and/or "well-documented" conspiracy theory.
Apparently Lisa is somewhat of an expert on conspiracies, and will appear Thursday in a Discovery Channel segment discussing RFK's assassination. Some of the Usual Troll-Hunting Suspects of course weighed in on that diary, but were fairly well kept in hand by the generic discussion of the subject (where no singular CT was being forwarded). So thought I'd go ahead and weigh in on the subject - in a generic sort of way, of course.
Fact: Conspiracies occur all the time, whenever more than one person is involved in manipulating events, commodities, news and/or documentation to bring about a desired effect, while disguising the manipulations behind them and the purpose intended. Government is always a gold mine for conspiracies, and the press is often involved either in the manipulation phases or in the cover-up phases. Most of the time the public never finds out the overall truth or the full behind-the-scenes plot-twists.
Fact: History is chock full of conspiracies and conspiracy theories. You'll learn about them AS conspiracies if these were orchestrated by what historians (or mere information hacks posing as historians) deem to have been "bad guys." If it was "good guys" involved, it will be portrayed as divine intervention or sheer courage-in-action - against events occurring as a result of pure, blind, dumb luck (or bad luck and coincidence) or some improbable combination thereof.
Fact: Markos has specific intentions for this website and his own future enabled by the popularity of this website and the book it promotes. He does NOT wish to become associated with conspiracies or conspiracy theorists, so he will not tolerate the subject on this website.
Fact: A significant group of Kossacks with nothing better to do in life have been deputized by Markos and/or Armando to spend day after day, night after night, pixel after pixel and whole swaths of bandwidth 'hunting' down conspiracy buffs and contributing literally hundreds of throw-away insults to suggestive diaries, thereby making those diaries "High Impact" so casual readers will be drawn to them to revel in the sheer brilliance of kindergarten name-calling insults and band-wasting pootie/pony/puppet pix.
Presumption: Which (presumably on purpose) keeps those same casual readers and deputized playground bullies from reading diaries with actual news content (keeping up with real ongoing conspiracies coming from the Neocon cabal) and/or analysis pertinent to Democratic politics or Progressive Party planning for the future. What they don't know can't hurt us.
Meanwhile: Armando just keeps on getting grumpier and grumpier...
