Back in the Bush halcyon days post 9-11, approval ratings in the stratosphere, getting ready to fulfill his dream of a successful presidency thanks to a great excuse for a jolly war in the Middle East because
war is good according to candidate Bush
Remember how anyone that said the least little thing in opposition to the war drumbeat was labelled a traitor?
So what's the deal with these conservatives now coming out of the woodwork claiming that, errr, perhaps, ummmm, maybe our commander in chief is not so infallable after a 60 point dump in approval ratings.
This from Mister Friggin' Conservative Richard A. Viguerie:
WaPo
The main cause of conservatives' anger with Bush is this: He talked like a conservative to win our votes but never governed like a conservative....We've been rewarded with a war in Iraq that drags on because of the failure to provide adequate resources at the beginning, and with exactly the sort of 'nation-building' that Candidate Bush said he opposed.
I ask you: Is Mr. Viguerie a traitor?
I'd like to ask any conservatives reading this the following:
1. Do you believe in separation of church and state?
2. Is torturing prisoners OK with you?
3. Can the government enter your home or listen to your calls without a warrant?
These are constitutional questions, and I would really like to know which side of the Constitution the average conservative is on. Are you for it, or against it?
Last question:
4. Are us liberals still traitors for our opposition to Mr. Bush?
