At the
Yearly Kos convention on June 8th the
CivicSpace community will be teaching a workshop on building netroots campaign websites. Experts will be avaliable all day to teach participants at every skill level. The day will culminate in a barn raising of a real world netroots campaign website thought up by the DailyKos community and built by workshop participants and facilitators. This thread will be used as a campaign idea incubator with the best concept being built three days from now at the YearlyKos convention.
How this works:
Do you have an idea for powerful netroots web campaign but don't have the technical expertise or the time to pull it off? Now is your chance to start something huge. We are counting on Kossacks to come up with the best ideas for netroots campaign websites and post them as comments below this thread. If a clear consensus for a campaign idea doesn't emerge we will vote on the top submissions. The winning idea will be turned into a fully flushed out netroots campaign that we will plan, build, and launch at the YearlyKos convention.
Idea submission instructions:
Please post a description of your idea below as a comment. If you like an idea please vote up the comment and leave substantive feedback as a reply comment. Feel free to ask hard questions or post further ideas and advice as well. Submissions can encompass any issues, candidates, or political territory you can think of but if you want to win we suggest you keep your campaign idea relevant and achievable.
How to help:
There is much you can do in addition to submitting or weighing in on ideas. Will you be attending the YearlyKos convention and want to participate? Please be sure to register for the CivicSpace website building workshop on your YearlyKos registration. Also, if you have experience with CivicSpace / Drupal, developing web applications, or doing graphic design and want to help with the barnraising at the workshop or virtually please email: zack [at] civicspacelabs [dot] org. When the campaign is launched there will be plenty of opportunity for Kossacks to get involved and help the site we make take on a life of its own
Everyone, please submit your ideas below as comments and participate in the discussion, and if you're coming to YearlyKos see you in Vegas!
