Yesterday I posted a plea for help in finding a Democratic opponent to my Republican congressman, John Sullivan. Well, just a few minutes ago, I checked Barry Welsh's site and low and behold, a brave man named Alan Gentges will prevent my repugnant congressman, John Sullivan from getting a free pass.
Sullivan is reviled by many Republicans as well because of his lack of his lack of integrity and questionable personal life. Hence, he has attracted two primary challangers.
Plus his primary challanger from 2004 is running as an independant. Life in the OK-1 has gone from very bad to very good in less than twenty four hours.
As of now, I know almost nothing about Mr. Gentges. From a simple google search, he's an attorney and
he's run for a state senate seat before and lost. Bear in mind, that seat is in Bartlesville, an uber Republican oil town.
Although OK-1 is based in Tulsa, it bottlenecks up to Bartelsville, a somewhat famous oil town which is a pretty big place for Oklahoma. That's where Gentges is from but it appears that he practices law in Tulsa. Having connections to both Tulsa and Bartlesville, the two biggest towns in the district is definitely a good sign.
I'll be swinging by the Democratic Party county headquarters tomorrow where, hopefully, I'll get some more information on Mr. Gentges. With primary challangers and a conservative independant, Mr. Sullivan is looking quite vulnerable.
