If you (like me) have bought the $10 weekend streaming-video pass from Air America, there are a couple of problems to be aware of right now.
First problem: Links screwed up on
http://www.airamericaradio.com/...
The links for Friday's program are reversed between Room 2 and Room 3. Put another way, if you want to see what's going on in Room 2, you have to click the link next to Room 3, and vice versa.
I've sent email to premiumsupport@airamericaradio.com but, as with my report of issues with network congestion, I've received no response thus far. At least this one has a workaround.
Second problem: YearlyKos streaming unreliable for many ISP customers
I use sonic.net, a premium DSL/broadband provider in Northern California. I've seen reports from a number of people on other ISPs around the country. The typical scenario is that streaming works great for about 5 minutes, then stalls and has to be restarted manually.
Ironically enough, the streaming problems from home motivated me to drive in to work -- where our lower-bandwidth T1 connection, shared among a significant number of employees, is giving me a perfect stream. Argh.
What now, dear friends?
I will continue to investigate and update the causes of streaming problems, including both provider-side (network peering, congestion avoidance) and customer-side (home firewall, PC software/OS) issues. Please post any information or ideas you may have regarding how to get these problems resolved.
Take the poll. It'll make you feel sexy.
