Promoted by DHinMI. I hope the MSM thinks about the hatred spewed by Glenn Beck and his fellow travellers in rightwing hatred before they start mouthing off about Yearly Kos being evidence that progressives are "angry."]
Who does Glenn Beck think he is, calling Al Gore a Nazi for "An Inconvenient Truth?" Should this surprise anybody who follows Beck a lot? It should not -- he has engaged in a systematic pattern of hate speech and has even incited people to violence.
Back at the school I taught last spring, there was a place for kids like that -- the principal's office. So, why is CNN rewarding such potty-mouthed behavior by giving him a platform to spew his hate? And this calls attention to a larger issue -- why is it OK for a right-winger to be angry, but not Howard Dean? After all, this is the same network that dissected the so-called Dean Scream over and over again. But apparently, it is OK to yell, scream, and get hysterical if you're a Republican.
But the American people are starting to see through the lies of the right -- the latest polls show us 20 points ahead of the Republicans in the Congressional races. And while Bush may get a bounce from the death of Zarqawi, the overall fundamentals of Iraq have not changed, and the violence will not stop. And the need for this country to address global warming will not go away.
So, without further ado, here is the systematic pattern of hate speech that Glenn Beck has engaged in since taking over as a talk show host:
1. He compared Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" to Hitler.
2. He defended Ann Coulter's attacks on 9/11 widows.
Apparently, they are fine unless they get too uppity and dare to criticize George Bush, who is the greatest man in their eyes since the Bible was completed and therefore not to be questioned.
Muhammed Ali was once considered too uppity as well.
3. He called Hillary Clinton Satan and the anti-Christ.
Apparently, when a woman gets too powerful and uppity for them, then she is bad.
4. Glenn Beck accuses liberals of raping immigrants by denying them Social Security.
Bizarre -- considering that he supports Tom Tancredo and believes we need walls and massive deportations.
5. He accuses John Murtha of hating the troops.
The same goes for veterans as for women -- may God have mercy on your soul if you get too uppity and fail to support the Dear Leader.
6. He denies that global warming exists.
He is no different from the Exxon-funded National Center for Policy Analysis -- he simply presents the unglued version.
7. He believes in censorship -- he shouted repeatedly, "Shut up! Shut up!" at Jean Rohe, the student who called out McCain for speaking at their graduation against their wishes.
8. He believes in nuking Iran.
9. He once repeatedly made sexually suggestive comments towards a female news anchor live and on air.
10. He accused undocumented workers of cultural genocide.
11. He called the Saudis "dirtbags."
12. In another program, he called undocumented workers "terrorists.
13. He accused South Dakota Native Americans of merely opening an abortion clinic on their reservation to exploit the situation there.
He also said that Native American culture had denegrated into gambling, fireworks, alcohol, and abortion clinics.
14. He supports nuking Venezuela and called nuclear weapons "climate control devices."
15. He called Katrina victims "scumbags" and said that all 9-11 families did was complain all the time.
16. He called Cindy Sheehan a "prostitute."
17. Beck supports torture.
He interviewed someone on the radio who supposedly practiced torture who described some of the graphic details of the torture. Beck thanked him for his service.
18. He fantasized about choking the life out of Michael Moore.
19. He called Nicholas Berg's father a "scumbag."
So, what else do we know about Glenn Beck besides his inflammatory statements?
