Dmsilev has a great diary of graphs showing DK
registrations. Around convention time, we see registrations shooting up from
~100/day to ~400/day.
So, newfound DailyKos users, come out come out whereever you are!
Please comment on what YearlyKos did for you, let's get an idea of the impact. Maybe:
- You found DailyKos and signed up because of some coverage you saw of YearlyKos. You're new to the progressive blogs.
- You knew about progressive blogs, and came over to DailyKos because of the good impression YearlyKos gave you
- You were a lurker here, and decided to register after seeing how YK went, and what went on there
- You were registered, but still just lurked and now you're going to comment or even diary regularly
- You were disenchanted with progressive blogs or DK itself and were going to drift away and have changed your mind thanks to YK.
- You were a regular poster/commenter and now you're going to start your own blog, or run for some office, or join with several other bloggers to coordinate some campaign, or volunteer for someone running for office - in short, you're going to become active outside DailyKos.
There are other scenarios, but mostly let's meet the newest Kossacks and hear how you came here - was it mainstream media coverage? Coverage on other blogs? Watching it on C-Span?
In any case, from me, welcome! I should point out that if DK isn't your cup of tea, YearlyKos is really about the netroots as a whole - and there are plenty of other great blogs you could join if this one is not right for you. Atrios, AMERICABlog, Glenn Greenwald (a personal fav), MyDD (another fav for polling info and analysis) and TalkingpointsMemo all off the top of my head are fantastic.
But I hope you stay awhile. Please don't be shy, if you've been waiting for a diary to comment in, wondering if your input was welcome, it surely is here.
