So, who are you and what do your genitals look like? Do they look like something in a porn magazine or do they resemble something like the rest of us have?
What do you call your genitals?
Do you give them a 'pet name' or do you refer to them as their proper name? Hell, do you name them at all?
There's no wrong answer there.
What would you call them if the doctors present when you were born said they weren't proper?
Do you know that those genitals you probably have right now are what gave you the label of boy or girl at birth? There is no standard of sex or gender testing at birth.
A few days or less after that declaration, your birth certificate is issued. It is a document that will be with you with the rest of your life, regardless of what it says. Perhaps it is wrong---your penis is bit smaller than expected(2.5 cms at birth, stretched), your clitoris (.9 cm) is a bit longer than expected and may look like a penis.
The most severe cases of what I am talking about occur at the rate of about 1:2000. More common is the incidences of those who simply fall outside of what is "standard"...those boys with a urethra that exits somewhere other than the tip, those women with with a clitoris just little bit too big. Sometimes it's simply a hormone thing---the facial things, the body structure, the little tits on otherwise "manly men". Some men have them? Why is that?
I'm one of those children. I fucking hate that I was "blessed" with it at birth, but life is what it is. It's not something I can change.
The past few days thanks Robyn--there are links in there leading to serious intersex-phobia have been a bit dismaying to me as an outbreak of transphobia and now, intersexphobia has taken hold with some posters and with others who have given the comments recs. What gives with that? Do you really hate people not physically exactly like you?
Why do you hate the intersexed? Why do you hate trans people?
Are you uncomfortable now? Squirming in your seat?
Good.
Does our existance make you uncomfortable?
