Apparently, 42 Democrats in the US House are more concerned with re-election than with the blood of 2500 US Marines and soldiers. They have essentially consented to the Republican talking points that Iraq somehow is connected to 9/11, that Saddam Hussein was a direct threat to American security and freedom, and that $1 trillion for an unjustifiable war is well worth the cost.

Perhaps these 42 don't deserve re-election. Maybe we Democrats don't deserve to have a majority in the House when we have 42 members who will cower to the political ploys of Republicans. Remaining in office seems to be a higher priority on their list than maintaining America's honor or preserving its soul.
From the text of H.Res. 861:
Whereas by early 2003 Saddam Hussein and his criminal, Ba'athist regime in Iraq, which had supported terrorists, constituted a threat against global peace and security and was in violation of mandatory United Nations Security Council Resolutions;

Nothing! I say NOTHING will wash the blood of 2500 US Marines and soldiers from the hands of those who support these falsehoods. Sorry, but no one will ever convince me that Saddam Hussein was a direct threat to the freedom or security of the United States. No one will ever convince me that setting up a Shi'ite theocracy in Iraq is a matter of "defending freedom". No one will ever convince me that the imposition of Sha'ria Law in Iraq somehow means that the country is "better off" than while under the secular rule of Saddam Hussein. Call me a peace-freak, call me a traitor, call me a defeatist. I don't care.
