So, I have not posted on here in quite some time, had a lot going on at home that has now been resolved. But, I had to write a quick post today after visiting with a lot people this past weekend. You see, we are a Democrat only family. Almost everyone is a lefty/progressive, and would never vote for a Republican. That is, until I brought up the 2008 elections, and the idea that Hillary would be running. Well, I heard a mouthful about that. Seems that no one thinks she can win, and would also be hesitant to vote for her at all. I see the polls about who you all think should run for President in 2008, and I see the results. That being said..what is it that we can all do to make sure we have a viable candidate in 2008? I know my family isnt the only one concerned about a Hillary ticket in 2008, there must be many many more of them.
The Democrats need to realize that they cannot run on "principle" alone..they must also cater to the masses. And the masses need someone that they can trust to do what is right, not just say what they think we want to hear. I realize that the Kos blogosphere is pretty damn big...but what can any of us do to expand these discussions to outside of our circle?
Anyways, just my 2 cents after being gone for so long, hope to participate more in the future.
I hope a few people can recommend this post so we can see what others have to say as well. Thanks
