Or so goes the claim made by Shirley Phelps-Roper of Westboro Cult infamy last week while being interviewed on "The Big Story" by Julie Banderas.
"You think gay pride, bimbo" was the retort put forth by Mrs. Phelps, who bears an uncanny resemblence of her psycho father, Fred.
The interview was in response to the lawsuit filed by a family in Maryland of a marine killed in Iraq after the Phelps clan protested at his funeral. The family of Lance Cpl. Matthew a. Snyder filed suit earlier this month after the Phelps cult took their roadshow to Maryland and Matt's funeral. Unlike many MSM outlets, Faux gets credit for calling the cult of whackos what they are: anti-gay. Never once did they call them anti-war protesters.
Cheers to them for that.
What transpired in the next few minutes must be watched to be believed. It's pretty damn entertaining too.
A
video posted on Youtube purportedly by a companion site of
Westboro Cult called "Thesignsofthetimes" shows the complete exchange and resulting meltdown by the "growing more delusional by the minute" Phelps. After you watch, you must check out some of the hundreds of comments for their hiliarity. It amazes me at how delusional this small group of people are in their mission to spread their bile around the country by protesting at military funerals. Banderas had her own problems of exasperation as she retorted the claims of Phelps but did prevail with her facts and bible knowledge. The outrageous thing on the youtube page by the Westboro clan is they felt they outdid her in the interview. If so, I would hate to see what they consider to be a losing interview for their side.
14 states and the federal government are attempting to stop these fools. I have mixed feelings about that type of legislation because I fear it could be used to silence the anti-war, anti-Bushco protests but thus far, the laws appear to be quite specific towards to Phelps sideshow.
Ms. Banderas did good by admonishing Phelps for her use of the word "fag" during the interview and by getting through this. The first time I watched it, I fully expected Banderas to cut the interview on the spot but she managed to carry on despite the hateful rhetoric spewing like an overflowing shit filled toilet from the mouth of Phelps. I particularly liked when she pointed out that the Westboro god seems to be singular to them and if Phelps really did believe in God, she was most certainly headed to hell for her words and actions.
Yay for Faux on this one. There isn't much they do right but in this instance, they did.
Also, I didn't link to signsofthetimes as it tries to download some weird activeX command when you open their page. You've been warned.
