Two nights now Lou Dobbs has had a story about the NAFTA superhighway. A couple of snips from each night->
The Bush administration's open-borders policy and its decision to ignore the enforcement of this country's immigration laws is part of a broader agenda. President Bush signed a formal agreement that will end the United States as we know it, and he took the step without approval from either the U.S. Congress or the people of the United States.
BILL TUCKER, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America sounds benign, hardly like a policy that critics call NAFTA on steroids. It's a deal that few have even heard of. Yet, it was agreed to by Mexico's President Fox, Canada's Prime Minister Martin, and President Bush in 2005.
BILL TUCKER, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): This is truck traffic at the border crossing in Laredo, Texas. More than $3 billion worth of imports pass through this crossing alone every month, all headed north.
Since the implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement, the flow of imports from Mexico to the United States has exploded by more than 400 percent at just the Laredo crossing, as American manufacturers have rushed to take advantage of Mexico's cheap labor.
REP. MARCY KAPTUR (D), OHIO: Ford Motor Company has made a decision to invest $9 billion in Mexico. And what this highway provides is a way for them to bring goods into the United States to be sold here, with none of the jobs being located here.
TUCKER: The highway she's referring to is actually several different projects collectively known as the NAFTA Superhighway. The routes are a combination of existing roads, planned expansion of others, new roads and rail lines. The project is funded with a mix of private and state and federal funds.
The trade route begins at Mexico's ports on the West Coast and runs all the way up to Kansas City, with facilities being developed there known as the K.C. SmartPort -- the project's aim, to expedite trade flow. The combination of reduced inspections at the borders and surging Chinese goods coming through Mexican ports are raising concerns about security.
JAMES HOFFA, PRESIDENT, TEAMSTERS UNION: The Bush administration is not serious about border security. They are not serious about port security. When we talk about a super-port controlled by Mexico, this is Dubai all over again. We stopped Dubai, but this is another way to take it out of the purview of Congress.

Quite a story and no mention on dkos.

NAFTA and NASCO
Thanks to the 1993 North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the United States is being drawn into a hemispheric perimeter that includes Canada, Mexico, and the U.S.
NAFTA is a purely Trilateral Commission invention. On December 17, 1992, President George H.W. Bush and his U.S. Trade Representative Carla A. Hills, initialed the NAFTA documents in a ceremony that included Mexican President Salinas, and Canadian Prime Minister Mulroney. Both Bush and Hills are members of the Trilateral Commission.
In fact, Carla Hills is widely credited as being the primary architect and negotiator of NAFTA.
In short, Carla A. Hills is at the white-hot core of the global elite, and one of its key operatives in globalizing the world.
Having said this, one can understand how the North American SuperCorridor Coalition, Inc. (NASCO) subsequently sprung up and declared itself to be "NAFTA's trade supercorridor" from Mexico to Canada. Note in the accompanying map from NASCO's web site that the supercorridor begins in Mexico and ends in Canada, with a U.S. route starting at Laredo, Texas and proceeding to Kansas City, MO. According to NASCO's web site,
"The NASCO Corridor encompasses Interstate Highways 35, 29 and 94, and the significant connectors to those highways in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Corridor directly impacts the continental trade flow of North America. Membership includes public and private sector entities along the Corridor in Canada, the United States and Mexico."
This story is one small part of globalization. And not a peep out of the news media nor dkos.
Why?
Also, notice the apparent lack of knowledge issed by James Hoffa when he said, "We stopped Dubai, but this is another way to take it out of the purview of Congress."
We didn't stop Dubai at all. Lot of hot air, no change, the sale is a done deal.
