Update [2006-7-14 19:35:41 by theRoaringGirl]: It seems that this has taken quite a weird turn. I was writing about flamewars. Redstar: if you want to consider me a troll, fine. To the others: you want to say I'm asking for "pity" fine. but too many of us, inlcuding myself, read our biases into other peoples comments, and before know it,a flame war. yes, I have read some things that hurt in the comments, oh, well... the hurt is much more than any of the personal things that were thrown at me on usenet during the SAG strike. Because here, I thought people knew me, and the little asshole on usenet was and is simply a spiteful, lonely human being.
So,I'm a fucking hypocrit as well.
Wow. wow. wow... to think that my asking a question in the "Outrage" thread has gotten me troll rated and not by the fellow I was responding to. wow... and by someone who has neglected, perhaps, to check my comment history. I admit to sometimes being a little to harsh - one comment was deleted... but I did feel the need to make the comment.
Not that it means a damn thing to some, but I am a Jew, I have family living in Israel, and I am the child of a Shoah survivor.
I am always amazed at how contentious discussing the dilemma in the Middle East is, that if you don't agree on this, that or the other, the awful "T" word is used. If I don't understand something, I will ask a question or research. I also understand, being a veteran of usenet, that in a text-based environment, such as usenet, irc or a webboard, vocal nuance is lost. I do my best not get embroiled in flame wars -- they don't accomplish anything other than to lay waste to a community. It can also serve to ruin a reputation. Actor212 knows whereof I speak.
