I'm sitting here in my hotel room in Bloomington, IN, chilling, grading papers and watching the news...and in between scenes of flames and destruction in Israel and Lebanon, breaking news from the UN Security Council cuts in.
I think, "Great! The UN is going to tell everyone to stop retaliating against each other and keep the world from going to Hell."
I was wrong. No, the UN isn't dealing with the crisis in the Middle East. Bolton has wasted the day tying the Security Council up with a resolution about North Korea...the same North Korea who test fired only one long-range missile last week - and it fizzled out after 40 seconds.
The Security Resolution just passed requires
North Korea to suspend its ballistic missile program and includes sanctions requiring all member states to block Pyongyang from receiving or selling missile technology.
Woopie!
How about we now get down to business and focus on the people who are actually being killed in Israel and Lebanon as we speak?
