The Florida Political Grapevine is spreading the word about one Democratic candidate for Florida's next governor.
The word is....this man takes no crap.
The Florida Political Grapevine is spreading the word about one Democratic candidate for Florida's next governor.
The word is....this man takes no crap.
The word is...this man has Republican gubenatorial hopeful Charlie Crist running scared. (And that's the Rep grapevine talking).
The word is...this man tells special interest groups to take a hike.
The word is...this man does not play to the lowest common denominator as does the current Attorney General.
The word is...this man does not play to the wingnuts.
The word is...this man does not play the Politics of Fear.
The word is...this man is a straight talker for real change.
This man is Rod Smith.
I've heard the man speak and the word is...he is a dynamic speaker.
Quite frankly, his link to law enforcement scares me. Florida is a currently a police state. What we need around here is a few more cops....not!
As the prosecuting attorney in the Gainesville student murders, the word is the man demonstrated dogged determination during those dark days.
As a state senator, the word is Smith has fought for better health care, stopped efforts to undermine a woman's right to choose, and helped lead the coalition that prevented Gov. Bush from interfering in the Schiavo case.
But will he fight for all Florida's citizens, those citizens deemed the underclass by the policies of Jeb Bush?
I've met Smith once. He appeared interested, genuine, as did his wife. Yet, when I forwarded correspondence regarding my concerns, by invitation of his wife, I received no reply.
That bothers me. Alot.
As a Florida citizen who works actively to advance and support the cause of fellow Floridians beseiged and laid low by Jebbie's Draconian policies, I can't base my vote on appearances. On feelings.
The word is...Florida needs a change in leadership. Big time.
Make me a believer, Rod.
Because I don't take any crap either.
