Check out the opening paragraph of
this Forbes article on Holy Joe:
Suddenly trailing in the polls, Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman is enlisting the help of former President Clinton, the man he criticized in 1998 for "disgraceful behavior" in a sex scandal with a White House intern.
Hmmmm. Think this is the sort of storyline Lieberman was hoping to see coming out of Clinton's visit this Monday?
I don't think so, either. (More on the flip.)
As I mentioned yesterday, it wouldn't take much effort to make Holy Joe regret running for help to the guy who he betrayed back in 1998. And to judge from
this Forbes story, some parts of the media are more than willing to cooperate with any efforts of ours to judo-leverage Clinton's visit (scheduled for
4 PM Monday at the Palace in Waterbury) against Lieberman.
Poor Holy Joe has other problems, too. His efforts to fight off the DINO label aren't making much headway, what with news stories like this one and this one getting media play. Now, it looks like his big Clinton gambit is backfiring a good three days before the Big Dog sets foot in Connecticut.
Let's make sure that it does. Write to the local Connecticut papers, doing your best to bring up Lieberman's betrayal of Bill Clinton -- a betrayal that allowed the Republican Congress run roughshod over us with their impeachment disaster. Make a point of mentioning that the same man who says we mustn't criticize the current White House occupant was oh-so-eager to stick a knife in the back of President Clinton.
Y'all know what to do, folks. Go to it! :-)
