CNN Reporting right now that Rumsfeld approved a 4 month extension of the tours of duty 'experienced' soldiers are serving in Iraq - the first consequence of bush's decision yesterday to send more troops to Baghdad.
There isn't enough for a full diary here, and I'll update as I can, or delete when someone comes up with a more complete diary.
This will do wonders for troop morale as Kossack hekebolos indicated earlier here.
Rumsfeld was briefly on the screen saying, "Of course there's always a little disappointment when people learn they won't be going home." (that's a paraphrase, but his tone indicated a certain degree of permanence in this decision as well)...
I guess Israel isn't the only country desperate for troops right now.
SIDENOTE REGARDING THE SEEDING OF HATRED TOWARDS IRAN
Oh, and on a side note...the bombings in Baghdad today are being reported with the words "Katyusha rockets"...as the media begins planting the seeds of Iranian involvement in the Iraqi insurgency.
I suspect we'll be bombing innocent Iranians before Xmas.
