I feel that it's prudent to remind everyone (including myself) that our Armed Forces abroad are in need of our support.
Despite our opinions, those who have volunteered to serve have little choice other than to participate, often at the cost of their lives, their physical health, or their mental stability.
It is up to us to help ease the burden that has been so recklessly thrust upon these brave men and women. We must extend our compassion and appreciation for them despite our opposition to the cowards who have lounged in soft cool seats, risking nothing of themselves; but rather, gambling with the lives of those who enjoy less privilege.
Below, please find a list of places where you can offer your support for our soldiers abroad as well as those who have returned and may have some difficulty.
Thanks, and, sorry for the downer.
USPS GENERAL PRACTICES:
Learn how to send packages to various countries
OPERATION HELMET
Support our Military by making up for Rumsfeld's incompetence
Or, enjoy some sweet goodies!
VETERANS AFFAIRS
Spend some time with our Vets in need.
USO
Moralle, care packages, and maybe even a B list celeberty!
I am looking for a non partison organization that specializes in care packages. Please post one if you have a good one (or two.)
I should add that the USPS has suspended mail to Iraq, so you must rely on other sources (which I would love to post) to send care packages.
