I woke up this morning pre-alarm clock like a child on Christmas day. I'm not quite sure why, though. My eyes filled with sleep and unbrushed teeth, I slogged my way over the laptop and jiggled the mouse. As the screen lit up the otherwise dark room, I hit refresh on the Quinnipiac page left open from last night:
Lamont Leads Lieberman 54 - 41 In Dem Primary, Quinnipiac University Connecticut Poll Finds
Heh, I chuckled with a quick smirk and went on to my morning routine. Sure, I looked at the numbers in a bit more detail, but the whole time I've realized that nothing has changed. There is no good likely voter model and we need you here this weekend, helping us GET. OUT. THE. VOTE.

The Quinnipiac numbers should be taken as seriously as the trend they represent, and that's it. There is no quality likely voter model, and I can tell you honestly that when I go to bed at night, I do so believing this race is 50/50. It's just the reality of the situation. I say that with 100% sincerity.
Here's the bottom line ... Joe Lieberman is hiring 4,000 people to supplement his pre-existing meager field operation. Most of those (the ones getting $60 a day) will be from Connecticut. And at some point, with the ink still wet on their pay stubs, will be given time to vote. Senator Lieberman has raised $10 million dollars and will outspend us by a 2 to 1 margin. Their campaign also knows no low -- there is no telling what the hell they'll shoot down the "tubes" attempting a 15th round knockout. Watch the video ---->
It's all about the votes now, and your participation in the field effort is absolutely critical to seeing through what we started together six months ago. Can we count on you to volunteer?
