I am married to a Jewish man, so perhaps my ears and eyes are perhaps more keenly tuned to anti-semitic slurs, however softly couched.
I am seeing an increasing number of references to the Lieberman campaign, his staff, and his supporters here and on various other progressive blogs that are making me more and more uneasy.
The category, or frame, if you will, revolves around the Lieber-ilk names.
Here is a short list of them, as I've read them on various blogs and in comments even here on Daily Kos.
I am identifying these tags as referential to Nazi Germany, germanic etymology, and the titles of Nazi Youth organizations.
Now I know a bunch of you are going to bite my head off about this. But I don't think you all (as good progressives and basically nice people) want to be identified as tagging the campaign staffers and supporters of a Jewish Democratic senator with tags that carry the whiff of soft anti-semitism.
Here are the some of the tags I've seen that are bothering me -
LieberKind
LieberYouth
LieberKidz
LieberThugs
LieberTrolls
LieberStaffers
LieberThugLobbyist
You all are better than this, aren't you?
Don't stoop to using the language of fear.
