"Flood Victims Wish Bush Would Meet Them" in the Columbus Dispatch 2 Aug 06.
Some snippets, dateline, PAINESVILLE, Ohio:
Muck and scorching heat created a pungent stench similar to the aroma of the pachyderm area of a zoo as residents pulled out furniture, appliances and an array of personal items, including clothing covered in mud and mold.
Smells like Republicans.
Many said they were thankful for Bush's declaration that the place they live is a disaster area, making them eligible for federal aid. But some wished the president was touring their streets instead of meeting with politicians in Mentor, not nearly as damaged as Painesville and elsewhere in Lake County. He was stopping by an emergency management bunker on his way to a fund-raiser for gubernatorial candidate KEN BLACKWELL.
Smells even MORE like Republicans.
"I'm sure he understands," Stacey Kovalchuk, 34, said about Bush as she tossed more debris from her home on a growing pile of trash and mud that was her driveway.
Yeah. Sure.
As the Russian peasants used to say as they were being beaten, flogged, starved, etc., "If only the `Little Father' knew." "Little father" = the Czar. And it turns out, the "Little Father," whether he knew or not, didn't give a flying sh#t.
(Whatever happened to the "Little father," by the way? Oh yeah. So THAT'S the thought bubble behind Putin's inscrutable smile!)
"I'd like him to smell the smell we have down here and I'd like to ask him if he'd like to have to move back in here. This was a very nice place. It was nice, quiet and beautiful, and now look at it."
I'm sure if Bush were there he would say, "Uuuuuuuuh. Uuuuuuuh." (Human dialtone. Please deposit another billion dollars.) "Uuuuuuuuuh. The nan-of-eleven. Gub'mint. Tare. Nucler. Boo! God bless ya. Let's eat."
The two-story Millstone condominiums where Kovalchuk lives were flooded up to the second level when the nearby Grand River overflowed its banks in the worst flooding in this northeast Ohio city in recent memory.
Did you say condominiums? There's your problem. Bush doesn't believe in birth control.
Oh you mean like "apartments"? Well, Bush doesn't believe in people who live in apartments, either.
You see, Bush is color-blind. No matter if you are black, white, red, yellow or polka dotted, if you make less than $900,000 a year, you are a N#GGER in his book. Don't believe me? Look who gets his tax breaks. And look at New Orleans. Old poor white women or young middle class black guys; everyone gets drowned together
Kevin Ford, 37, who was flooded out of the home he shares with his mother, was hoping Wednesday morning that Bush would somehow find a way to visit flood areas in the region and not just meet with officials to learn about it. "I hope he comes down and looks at it," Ford said.
If wishes were horses---no, come to think of it, Bush is askeered o' horses too.
His neighbor, Laura Gorney, 45, who on Friday was rescued from her second-story bedroom window in a rowboat, ... "If the president wants to visit me here, I'd welcome him in. I'd like to show him these homes and explain that my prayer is that they just tear them down. I'm afraid to even be here."
So is he. But then, he's afraid of flashbulbs, budgets, and books without pictures.
Stephen Mapes, 35, was loading some items he salvaged from his mother's flood-damaged home into his pickup truck, decorated with a Bush-Cheney bumper sticker.
The Army veteran said he feels the president deserves the support of the community.
"There are probably some people around here who think George should come out here and help them clean up and move stuff for them, but I think most of us understand he's got more important things to do," Mapes said.
It must be difficult, loading your truck while you have a GOP elephant d#ck stuck up your ass; but, "different strokes"...
(And, a VETERAN? Hey, somebody buy this guy a newspaper! You think Bush despises the poor, wait till you see what he's doing to do the VA! I'm a veteran too, buddy. Go google on "Rep. Chris Smith, the REPUBLICAN who was the head of "Veterans for Bush" and got "Roved" for trying to help vets. Get educated!!!)
And in conclusion, this must have been boring for the slacker-in-chief. You seen one devastating national disaster mismanaged by a corrupt, incompetent, uncaring administration, you seen `em all. (Shades of Spiro Agnew..)
Yo! Pass the rolls.
