Despite his support of Joe Lieberman in the Democratic primary, Barack Obama will support Ned Lamont in the general. His PAC is reportedly cutting a check this morning. It remains to be seen if his support of Lamont will be as public as his support of Lieberman (stumping with him endorsing him at a CT event during the primary) or even if it will be public at all (currently we're operating on unnamed sources being reported at a site behind a firewall), but hopefully it will be strong; as it should be.

reports:
Among the other Democratic leaders offering support for Lamont today are Senators Barbara Boxer, Barack Obama and Ted Kennedy (Hotline's Wake-Up Call), and John Edwards was the first national leader to call and congratulate Lamont on his victory.
I checked Hotline's Wake-Up Call (which is apparantly behind a subscription firewall that my school has access to) and indeed that is what they are reporting.
Lamont said John Edwards was the first Dem leader to call him last night (New York Times); Sen. Barack Obama's HOPEFUND will be sending a $5K PAC check to Lamont today (Wake-Up Call! sources); Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) called to "personally congratulate" (CTBOB.com); and Sen. Barbara Boxer called to offer her support (Hartford Courant).
It's good to see Barack doing the right thing. Let's see it in public too!
