Might be a little light on the substance front here, but just had to share. The past few days have been grand, today's events seem to have taken off a bit of the shine. I'm here to hopefully, put a bit back on. Ignore if so inclined.

Just a little pick me up for all us out here fightin the good fight. Seems some of us out here are still struggling with the blues... sooooo...

a little mood, music maybe?

DROPKICK MURPHYS
            The Gauntlet

Well I just got back from a break in the fight I was weighing in heavy but still feeling alright
all I hear in the distance mines and shells
here come the sirens wailing another attack to be repelled
Do you think we're gonna make it?
I don't know unless we try
you could sit here scared to move or we could take them by surprise
it's submission that they want
it's surrender that they need
when we're doing it their way their aims will be achieved

They're gonna come when you're not ready
when you're not to well-prepared
they're gonna prey upon your weakness no man's soul is ever spared
you've got to stand up, yeah, and fight them
show them what it's all about this man is not for sale there will be no backing down

Stand up and fight and I'll stand up with you!
We shall succeed
Stand up and fight and I'll stand up with you!

They won't get me they won't get me
though they never cease to try
they won't get me they won't get me
I would rather fight and die
they won't get me they won't get me
well my friend will they get you?
when they get you when they get
you tell me what you gonna do?

Stand up and fight and I'll stand up with you!
We shall succeed
Stand up and fight and I'll stand up with you!

If the lyrics kick ya in the ass... you really need to check out the song!

I tell ya, after Tuesday night, I can smell the fear in DC all the way out here in Seattle. Too bad for them this is the home of the brave, eh?!

November is gonna be sweet as apple pie I tell ya. UPDATE: In light of the following: http://thenexthurrah.typepad.com/the_next_hurrah/2006/08/orgasms_over_te.html as well as: "If we just pick up like Ned Lamont wants us to do, get out by a date certain, it will be taken as a tremendous victory by the same people who wanted to blow up these planes in this plot hatched in England,” Mr. Lieberman said at a campaign event at lunchtime in Waterbury, Conn. “It will strengthen them and they will strike again.” Lieberman I believe the sentiment expressed in the song above is even more important than ever. A clear illustration, of what Mr. Lieberman, seems to have forgotten in his privlidge and Joe has forfeited any remaining goodwill that may be left, with his oh so neoconservative-like attacks, upon every single member of his FORMER party. Does he not realize that a great number of the people that were forgiving, even understanding, of his positions, still disagreed with him about this war in Iraq? Even while we are ALL in agreement in the pursuit of the larger conflict in regards to terror? He has cast all those that held him in regard and trusted him to represent them for 18 years, to the street. Even before today, I was still defending his good work over the years on so many other issues. As a former resident of CT, I respected him when he took office, as well as the years to follow. But the outright betrayal, the nerve... leaves me almost speechless. The only things that really leap to mind are: Judas... Benedict... This nation never needed to become so partisian. We never should've become so divided, so at odds with each other. I long for the days of united we stand. After 9/11, there was no question, and despite the sheer horror and tragedy, we were one nation, we had each other. Then... fear. The endless, smothering fear, that we have been subjected to in the name of a ever dwindling minority of ideologically obsessed fools. Once we said, never again. Yet here we are, again. This madness must be stopped. These people must become familiar with justice. We the people, will again, stand united. Against the people who abuse the power they've been given in our names. No matter what it takes, there will be justice done.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
