I'm Sorry but the more I hear the Republicans, their mainstream media supporters and pundits, their talking points and rhetoric the more I consider the possibility that what we are dealing with is an entire class of people who were born without a sense of ethics or conscience. Or at least people who in part or whole who have a high disposition toward being able to rationalize anything for anything. I want to get a bumper sticker that says "It's ok to lie if you really really want something".
Saturday morning I happened upon Fox News's "The Beltway Boys" with Mort Kondrake and Fred Barns. (If they're Dorks I always make it a point to misspell their names. It was an amazing 1/2 hour of Bush regime spew.
They parroted the "We are safer with Bush fighting terrorism" line and continually bashed Democrats and liberals. They had it down, hook, line and sinker. I couldn't watch these guys for long but one of the disingenuous parts I can remember was when Barns said something to the effect that the Democrats were lame for voting down their own minimum wage bill. He seemed to forget to mention the part about the Republicans inserting a poison pill estate tax amendment into the bill. It reemphasized to me what a huge propaganda machine we are up against and sadly what apparently seems to be a class of people who believe that any means justifies their ends. I believe what also happens is that they start off knowing the rhetoric is wrong but eventually fall into believing it leaving them all lost in lies and bad ideology. No we don't use their tactics. It just means we have to fight harder. Will they ever see their glass houses fall around them? I think they will always be able to build new ones from their internal spew machines. On the upside "The Boys of Dork" listed the "Liberal Bloggers" as part of the left wing travesty. Nice to know we scare `em.
