It's typical, I guess. Republicans are lying by avoiding the truth and dancing around the facts. Nearly every single one of these guys was right along side Bush, agreeing with every bonehead idea and even collectively agreeing to change the common pronunciation of common words to bail the Presidential-Appointee out of looking as dumb as he is. Now, since every single thing Bush has done has resulted in all-out catastrophe, most of the Republicans in NE Wisconsin (a blue state, by the way)are in hiding. It's all in typical white-collar-criminal fashion: change your name and play dumb. It appears that these people are in competition as to who has disagreed with Bush more.
Luckily, I believe the people of Wisconsin have enough common sense to see through this BS. I don't think it all means that traditional Republicans are going to be voting Democrat, but I do think that a lot of them will be finding themselves too busy to vote on election day, which is nearly as good.
Wisconsin voters have been risk-takers throughout Wisconsin's history; going with their gut. However, I think that trend may be ending. Cheeseheads pride themselves on being strong, common-sense-driven people who know how to get their hands dirty, yet be gentle at the same time (all serial killers aside). They do not want to be seen by the rest of the country, and the world for that matter, as being in league with southern states who vote simply to avoid accusations of being unique. (I certainly don't intend to offend my friends in the South, but let's get real). I feel certain that local Republicans feel the same way I do about all this and are afraid, and they should be! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!........sigh........HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!..........
I'm not positive, but I'd be willing to bet the rest of the nation is seeing similar behavior by Republicans. I wonder if the polititians see that their constituents are hiding the fact that they voted Republican and have become somewhat ashamed of themselves. In my eyes, and perhaps I'm overreacting, I see this as being similar to Nazis at the end of WWII.
"No! I wasn't a Nazi. I was just trying to get by like everyone else. I have no idea what you're talking about. Yeah! That's the ticket."
Maybe the polititians are trying to avoid being put on trial at the future repeat of Nuremburg; trying to avoid a slow death in a Dutch prison similar to what their Dear Leader will soon be facing.
