As some of you may have heard,
Jack Carter pulled off an easy win last night in Nevada's Primary. Besides the Carter race, there were a few other important developments in yesterday's Primary:
Progressive Democrat Chris Giunchigliani pulled off a big win and oustered incumbent Democrat Myra Williams for Clark County Commission Seat E. Williams was hurt because she was seen by many as being in the pocket of developers. This is my own district and I'm very happy with this outcome.
Progressive Democrat Dina Titus won the nomination for Nevada Governor over conservative Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson. Titus will go on to face Congressman Jim Gibbons in the General. Gibbons is currently the front runner.
In the Republican Primary for the 2nd Congressional District, Secretary of State Dean Heller seems to have won by only 428 votes against a Club for Growth endorsed candidate.
Democrat Tessa Hafen won her Primary easily to take on Bush rubber-stamp Jon Porter in November.

NV-Sen:
Jack Carter had only token opposition so this wasn't a big suprise. This sets him up to face Republican incumbent John Ensign in the General. Now the real race begins for Jack. He will need a lot of help to compete with Ensign, who has over $3 million on hand.
Wesly Clark is in Las Vegas today to meet with Jack Carter. Possible endorsement?
Jack definietly needs our help to make this race competitive. However, I have my doubts that he will be added to the Netroots endorsed page because of this: http://www.mydd.com/...
What the hell has Webb got that Jack Carter doesn't? Jeez.
Matt Stoller:

It should be interesting to see if he's added. He certainly received many of votes on all of the netroots websites.
NV-02
Dean Heller 35.14% 24,781
Sharron Angle 34.53% 24,353
Dawn Gibbons 24.57% 17,328
Heller is seen as a moderate and he would make a very strong opponent for Democrat Jill Derby. The consensus among Democrats was that Derby would have an easier time winning against the ultra-conservative Club for Growth endorsed candidate Sharron Angle. However, Angle isn't counting out the possibility of a recount.
Jill Derby currently has a slight lead in fundraising (!!!) and has excellent poll numbers for this heavily conservative district:
QUESTION: If the election for Congress were held today, for whom would you vote for if the choices were between Jill Derby, the Democrat, and Sharron Angle, the Republican?
ANGLE DERBY UNDECIDED
31% 30% 39%
QUESTION: If the election for Congress were held today, for whom would you vote for if the choices were between Jill Derby, the Democrat, and Dean Heller, the Republican?
HELLER DERBY UNDECIDED
39% 31% 30%
She also released her first TV ad yesterday.

Democrat Tessa Hafen won her Primary easily yesterday. Hafen is the former Senior Aide to Minority Leader Harry Reid. The registration numbers in this district are split 50/50 between Republicans and Democrats, making this a continually competitive seat. However, it includes suburbs which typically have turned out to vote for Republicans in the past. The incumbent Republican in this district, Jon Porter, is far too conservative for the constituency he represents.
