Hello friends! MayorWatch here again (
http://mayorwatch.blogspot.com.) The grand jury transcripts are out regarding San Jose's recent garbage contract scandal. Cindy Chavez - whose name and reputation had been dragged through the mud for months for her alleged connection to the Norcal scandal - came out clean as a whistle - or at least cleaner than most expected. The real shock of the transcripts was that Chavez's opponent, Chuck Reed, testified that he effectively knew MORE about the negotiations than Cindy did! So why aren't any of our local print media publications covering the REAL substance of the revelations????
Look at Volume 7, p. 1290 (which is p. 149 of the PDF doc), lines 7-25.
There, Chuck states that he voted in favor of the staff recommendation to direct staff to negotiate a final contract with Norcal and bring it back to the Council"

One of our commentors showed us this:

Clearly, this is BIG news - especially since Mr. Integrity himself was never forthcoming about the true extent of what he knew regarding Norcal. Wouldn't we expect our local media to substantively address these concerns? Nope! The Metro's blog (http://www.sv411.com/...) focused instead on the fact that Cindy referred to Norcal officials in the testimony by their casual names - i.e. calling Michael Sangiacomo "Mike". Sounds like quite a reach, huh?
In related news, Reed has been coming under fire for his top level campaign strategist Victor Ajlouny. It is no wonder that Reed is becoming referred to as a "DINO" (democrat in name only!) amongst commentors on our site and another big San Jose blog [which the Mercury News admittely takes its cues from -http://www.sanjoseinside.com/... which is a different story altogether!] This is the same guy who put one of his Republican clients on a Democratic slate mailer to deceive Dems into voting AGAINST candidate progressive Otto Lee in a Sunnyvale City Council election. In that same mailer, Ajlouny "accidentally" replaced his candidate's picture with a man in uniform to FURTHER deceive likely voters...
Anyway, read about it for yourself:
