Joseph Lieberman's defeat in last week's Connecticut primary was a political tsumani felt through both parties, albeit, that Lamont won by a 4 point margin. However, it signaled the beginning of the end for the Right-Wing of the Democratic party which has come to dominant it for the last decade or so.
And, Sen. Lieberman, who went down with the ship crying about the polarization of politics has become the GOP's best friend. Although, he was their best good buddy to begin with, but now, he's come home to the party he should've jumped ship to a long, time ago.
Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, President Bush and the Conservative press have collectively put their arms around Joe and have made him feel very special this last week. Doing what they do best and that is smear Ned Lamont. Radicalizing him in every way they can. Painting him as Osama Bin Laden's "John the Baptist", while licking Senator Lieberman's wounds and telling him that he's special.
You see, Senator Lieberman portrays himself as a nice, decent man, searching for the human decency in all of us. His pompous attitude has led him to believe that he's America's moral professor. Yet, the hypocrisy lies in the fact that Mr. Lieberman, a so-called Independent, is willing to align himself with the most grimy of individuals.
Karl Rove, for example, is as dirty as anyone in Washington D.C. His resume reads of a who's who of reputations he's destroyed in the name of Bush. John McCain, Max Cleland, and John Kerry.
Mr. Rove has his sights set on Ned Lamont. Mr. Lamont has proven from his victory that David can kick Goliath's ass on his best day. Though, Mr. Lamont will be seen in the coming months as a disease. Someone who's willing to let Americans die at the hands of Islamic extremists.
We've heard it the last week from that raging rectum at CNN, that Ned Lamont was "the Al-Qaeda candidate," and that's a perfect PR slogan for Karl Rove. Paint Ned Lamont as the Islamic radical's best friend.
But, Karl Rove and his Propaganda machine is not only declaring war on Ned Lamont, but on the American people as well. The people have now come to understand that the war in Iraq is a total disaster and will continue to follow on the road to historical disgrace for this nation.
Karl Rove and his Propaganda train are using scare tactics to push Americans into believing that Democrats want you and your family dead.
But, let's ask ourselves, who's profitted more from dead people, Republicans or Democrats?
That's easy.
George Bush was lucky to have 9/11 occur on his watch, because had it not happen, George Bush wouldn't have run for re-election in 2004 and would've been a hysterical footnote to American history. But 9/11 made the "Bumbler-in-Chief" look like Winston Churchill and, of course, 51 million Americans re-elected him in 2004.
In 2002, with 9/11 just fresh in our minds the Republicans won the midterm elections by portraying the Democratic party as weak and willing to let American families die.
Let's face it, the GOP loves "dead Americans." With them living, they become wise and vote Democrat.
The party that proclaims itself as crusaders for a "culture of life" sure as hell like to talk about death to Americans. They see the smoldering remains of a dead U.S. citizen as "political currency" instead of an extraordinary problem.
Historically, when backed into a wall, the GOP will pull out all the stops in this coming election. They will eliminate all that is honest and decent and use smear tactics and fear-mongering to push Americans into believing that individuals like Ned Lamont want you dead. It's the only talent they have.
The only problem is, there's this big smoldering mistake in the Middle East called Iraq and about 60 percent of Americans are starting to become pissed off at this war, followed by the revolt within the Republican party.
Bush is radioactive. No one wants to be seen with this man. He's like the mistress that won't go away. The soldiers in Karl Rove's army are starting to walk away and it's up to "turd blossom" to bring them back to the fold.
Yes, it's a hell of a job to smear a mild-mannered man like Ned Lamont, but it's a olympian task to make certain Republican believe in King George again.
If the numbers are right, the GOP will fail miserably in Novemeber. Their smear tactics and false daggers will fall on deaf ears and hollow ground.
But, you can't fault a power-addict group of individuals from wanting it more.
The only thing is, WE want them out as bad as they want all the power to themselves.
