To the Honorable Judge Anna Diggs Taylor:
From time to time, the preservation of Liberty requires that American patriots demonstrate extraordinary courage in the face of oppressive circumstances.
The men who signed the Declaration of Independence courageously faced death by hanging at the hands of King George in their quest to establish Liberty.
The soldiers who invaded Normandy and the marines who raised our flag on Iwo Jima courageously risked all at the hands of determined enemies in their quest to defend Liberty.
Countless millions who rose up to demand that America's blessings be extended to all Americans courageously offered their lives and their safety at the hands of hateful bigots in their quest to perfect Liberty.
In my opinion, Judge Taylor, your unequivocal ruling in ACLU v NSA courageously challenges the most authoritarian, least accountable, and most dangerous administration our nation has ever known.
In my opinion, your courage stands as a model for all Americans who love their Liberty: Americans such as our founding patriots in Philadelphia, our brave warriors of World War II, and our extraordinary citizens like Rosa Parks.
Thank you for your courage, Judge Taylor. May Providence shine upon you and protect you.
