(
Much gratitude to Unitary Moonbat and the Rescue Rangers for last night's rescue, and to the Kossack who emailed me the links. - sid)
If you're visiting this diary for the first time and would like some more background on what it is and why it's here, please check here, Race Rescue Roundup (8/22).
Synopsis - I'm attempting to compile a listing of election-related diaries that have recently been posted, since most scroll away quickly with little attention. Most of them are House or Senate races but there are also some local ones, as well as the occasional 'general info' diary that I felt was worthy of including. More on this over the jump.
Note - This idea received some positive feedback and recommendations; I'd like to keep it going but I'm not going to be able to do it alone for long.
Volunteers to help or even take over would be very welcome; actually, appreciated.
I think it's worth repeating the following from that previous diary:
Please be aware that this is an inexact science. This is something that seems to be a need and, while I don't believe I'm the best person to tackle this, I'm giving it my best shot. Comments and/or suggestions welcome and appreciated.
That said, before I go any further, please note the following request:
If you are doing a diary on a specific race, particularly a House or Senate race, please, please, PLEASE, put the race number (or XX-Sen) at the beginning of the diary header. I can't tell you how much easier it makes when sifting through hundreds of diaries, and it would be a shame to miss some important ones.
Otherwise, I've tried to be pretty much comprehensive on diaries that cover races in any way. I don't vouch for quality and listing a diary here in no way is meant to connote my support (or lack thereof) for a given candidate or race. I will try to add a brief comment on the diary (if possible), and if anyone has any others that you feel should be added, please direct me to them in the comments and I'll add them if I think they're appropriate.
I'm hoping this morphs into a regular series - since so very few of these individual diaries make the rec list, I'd really appreciate it if this one diary could be recommended so folks can see them all (I'm sorry, I really hate to sound like a "reco beggar").
One more thing. On Election Day, I volunteered for Ned Lamont; it was the first political work I've done in my 43 years. As much as I do read many of them, I'm going to try to keep this a "CT-Sen-Free-Zone" (unless it impacts the other CT races). I'm also inclined to limit other races that I see as garnering enough attention in their own right.
