Good news for Ned Lamont (D-CT), bad news for Ted (racks brain to remember the guy's first name...Bob? Wayne?...) Joe! Lieberman (CFL-CT)...
A couple items from the Huffington Post today that show more cracks in the Lieberarmor.
This is from Bob Geiger:
My guess was that the middle finger Joe Lieberman gave Democratic voters in Connecticut after they selected Ned Lamont as their Senate nominee on August 8 and Joe's ill-advised independent bid for the Senate would run its course and begin to unravel by the end of September.
It looks like it's starting a month early. Senator Daniel Inouye (D-HI), a longtime Lieberman supporter, has announced that he is pulling his endorsement of Lieberman's independent candidacy.
Only 5 senators remain in the Losercamp.
It reminds me of that classic line at the end of The Hunt For Red October: "Mr. Ambassador, are you telling me you've lost another submarine?"
One more nugget down below...
This is just funny...
Seems Joe Lieberman was invited---and then tacitly disinvited---to join a Labor Day parade in Newtown.
According to an article in the most recent Bee, the Connecticut Senator was inadvertently invited by the Democratic Town Committee (DTC) to march in the town's Labor Day Parade with local Democrats. While one member of the Committee invited him as a "sitting Democratic Senator," others---apparently comprised of everyone else on the Committee---now view him as an Independent unworthy of inclusion.
The story is all wacky hijinks from there, including this gem from "snarly" Lieberman spokesmodel Dan Gerstein: "This is the kind of partisan game playing that has left Connecticut voters fed up with Washington." He's like a talking GI Joe without the kung-fu grip.
I predict we'll continue to see the life of the Lieberman campaign slowly drip...drip...drip away. For God's sake, their web site still isn't functional yet.

P.S. Josh Sugarmann's headline for the above story is great: Native Nutmegger's Advice to Lieberman: When You're Reduced to Picking a Fight with Newtown, CT, You've Got Problems. Heh.
