We all know that Joe hasn't hesitated to play the anti-semite card in his Primary race, but what about in 2000 as the Veep nominee?
10/31/2000 Larry King transcript
KING: Have you felt or seen any anti-Semitism?
LIEBERMAN: Not a whit.
KING: Not a sign at a rally?
LIEBERMAN: Not a sign, and you know the wonderful thing is, sometimes I'll talk about the fact that, you know, this was a barrier broken by Al Gore that I'm the first Jewish-American to run on a national ticket.
Amazing. Liebermann never experienced a "whit" of anti-semitism while on the campaign trail 6 years ago, apparently from either Democrats or Republicans, but he's only too happy to have his people use the anti-semite card against fellow Democrats.
See this similar question from the observer:
Asked specifically if he felt that the wave of opposition to his candidacy had anything to do with his religion or his support for Israel, Mr. Lieberman paused, stepped toward the blue sedan that would speed him to a meeting outside of Hartford and said, "That's too big a question to answer on one foot. We should come back to answer that one."

So in 2000 Lieberman experienced "not a whit" of anti-semitism, but in 2006? "too big of a question" Read: I'm too cowardly to defend my campaign strategy of calling my opponent's supporters anti-semites, so I'll let my buddies on TV do it instead.
