The Republican bloodbath in Colorado's CD-5 continues. The Denver Post has the story
here.
The Stakeholder highlights some key backgound here.
Jay Fawcett, our Fighting Dem Vet candidate, stays above the fray and plays statesman:
"What you have is a very consistent assessment by (Hefley), after his career of 20 years in the House, standing behind very high standards for ethics. And of course that came to a head with his confrontation with Mr. DeLay."
Hefley was dumped from his Ethics Committee chair for daring to hold Tom DeLay to some sort of ethical standard. The nerve!
Now Joel Hefley slams Lamborn's nomination by the Republican Party's primary voters: "I made this clear at the start of this campaign that I would never again support a Republican who ran a sleazy campaign against another Republican, and that's what Doug Lamborn did."
Folks, if you want to make a difference in this year's race, a little bit will go a long way here in Colorado's Fighting Fifth. We are home to Focus on the SpongeDob; and the Republican candidate expects Club fo Growth, Minuteman, and Christian Coalition support (among others).
None of us have any illusions. Well, maybe I do. But this race can be won with a little help from Kossacks around the world.
Jay is the highest caliber possible for this race: Air Force Vet, Gulf War I combat experience, Bronze Star recipient, and professor at the AF Academy.
Let's send Dobson, the right-wing wackos, and the nation a message that Dems are smart, tough on national security, and are ethical far beyond their peers on the right.
Support Jay here. I urge you. And make them fight for this seat!
