I'm in the process of getting my kids to training this morning, and I spied on some interesting advertising. It is at the back cover of "Life: America's Weekend Magazine" which is included in the paper.
The advertising is pretty simple. Details below...
The
full back page advertisement (I probably only saw it because it was on the ground with the back up) is a filled by a flag with a rip between one of the white and red fields. Eyes are peering through the rip as well as a couple of fingers.
At the top, it is labelled "BASED ON THE 9/11 COMMISSION REPORT".
In the middle, in large print "THE PATH TO 9/11". Immediately below, "The years that led up to it. Everything that might have prevented it."
At the bottom, in medium-large print "A TELEVISION MOVIE EVENT PREMIERES SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 10 8/7c". Immediately below, in small print "WITH LIMITED COMMERCIAL INTERRUPTION. DUE TO THE SUBJECT MATTER, VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED." Followed by the abc logo and "abc.com".
I post this mostly for everyone's information.
Brief analysis (gotta run soon): I've seen advertisements pulled with shorter notice than this. It really seems like abc is going forward no matter what...and the key messages in this advertisement would seem to drive home the point that the movie is accurate ("based on the 9/11 commission report") and that it seeks to place blame on Clinton ("everything that might have prevented it" seems to imply multiple things which would not seem to include Bush as much based on the discussions I've seen on this site to date).
