I received an email this morning from Bill Clinton on behalf of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee entitled
The Consequences of Inaction. The email urged me to act now to ensure a Democratic Senate. He wrote:
On November 7, Americans will make a critical choice together - will we give this administration and the Republican Congress two more years of unfettered control over our economy, our security, and our role in the world? Or will we say together that it is time for a new direction?
Here is my reply:
We see the consequences of inaction every day. Inaction by the Democrats in the Senate and in the House. Afraid to oppose the policies of George W. Bush. If they would fillibuster something, anything, it would send a message to the people that Democrats actually stand for something. I'm tired of being told to take action when the very people in a position to take action -- the people we ELECTED to take action -- are too timid and afraid to do so.
With all due respect...I'll take action when they do.
