I came across this quote today:
http://today.reuters.com/...
Asked if U.S. forces were winning, Abizaid said, "Given unlimited time and unlimited support, we're winning the war."
At my job, I have to explain to my boss how I am doing at my assigned tasks at least once per week. I am supposed to meet the project plan for both schedule and budget. If I am going to miss on either I better have damn good reasons.
So why is it okay for the general of all our forces in Iraq, to say that given unlimited resources and unlimited time he can win the war in Iraq?
I can win the war in Iraq all by myself if I have unlimited resources and time. Anyone can do so. Any task can be completed with unlimited resources and time. That is a crap answer. If I tried to pull that with my boss I would be in deep trouble.
The army, and all other functions of government, exist to serve the people of this country. We the people are the boss. So how can the Bush admin and the military get away with this crap of giving non-answers to realistic questions about how they are conducting their jobs? I am sick of it.
end rant.
