RICHMOND - Three people, including Virginia's best-known political scientist, have charged that Sen. George Allen has used a racial slur to refer to blacks. Allen denounced the allegations as "ludicrously false."
At a news conference in Richmond on Monday, Allen said, "I do not remember ever using that word and it is completely false for them to say that was part of my vocabulary then, or since then, or now. I have never used such a word."
Larry Sabato, a University of Virginia political science professor and an Allen classmate at U.Va., said on a nationally televised news program Monday night: "The fact is that he did use the 'n' word, whether he's denying it or not. He did use it."

Is the GOP lucky this was all uncovered before '08. Makes you wonder if this started from within the GOP or is being promoted further by it to kill Allen's '08 chances.
