Now that our President has received the green light from the House to allow the CIA to torture suspected terrorists, we have to wonder about
Luis Posada Carriles, the confessed terrorist who continues to be protected here in the U.S.
Wait a minute, didn't our Department of Homeland Security rule that we could not deport this serial terrorist to Venezuela because he would be under the threat of torture?
Of course this hypocrisy is never discussed in the MSM and when Hugo Chavez brought up Carriles in his U.N.
speech last week, there was a typical media blackout of this important case.
A brief background on Luis Posada Carriles:
In his statements to the American News Daily, Posada Carriles openly acknowledged, with complete cynicism, his participation in terrorist activities and the financial support he received from the Cuban American National Foundation (CANF) The activities include sabotage, assassination attempts, and other similar actions against Cuba like the sabotage against a Cubana airliner off the coast of Barbados in 1976 that killed 73 innocent people, including the Cuban national junior fencing team.
More from the article and his CIA connections:
"The exile, Luis Posada Carriles, said he organized a wave of bombings in Cuba at hotels, restaurants and dance clubs, killing an Italian tourist and alarming the Cuban Government. Posada Carriles was trained in guerrilla warfare by the Central Intelligence Agency in the 1960's."
"As you can see," said Posada Carriles, "the FBI and the CIA don't bother me, and I am neutral with them. Whenever I can help them, I do."
Well it would seem that "help" works both ways.
So not only does the U.S. provide harbor for "helpful" terrorists like Carriles, we also are against torturing terrorists, so long as they fall in the "with us" category.
