It looks like a tape was released today by al-Zawahiri (thought of as second to OBL) calling Bush a liar, the Pope a charlatan, and so on. If you read closely, the script is interesting...Bush has failed in Afghanistan and Iraq, he's not telling the American people the truth about what a debacle Iraq has become, the "war on terror" is a failure.

Standard stuff, right? Maybe not. Put on your tin-foil hat and join me after the break...
Isn't it awfully convenient that this rhetoric is almost exactly what any sane observer (i.e. Democratic candidate) would say? Not to mention what's in the papers today with Bob Woodward's new book?
The new talking points almost write themselves:
"Democrats are spouting the same attacks on the president as al-Qaeda!"
"You must be with the terrorists if you think that the President is lying!"
"The terrorists are desperate and on the run accusing Bush of lying...just like the Democrats!"
It sure is handy these al-Qaeda tapes come out in key moments before the election. I recall a late-breaking Osama bin Laden tape right before the 2004 election that gave Bush some key momentum. Could it be...that al-Qaeda wants Bush and the Republicans to win? Maybe they are coordinating the election push....
Nah. Too much with the conspiracy theories. Couldn't be.
