This new article in The Nation says that Nader is preparing a presidential campaign:

It also states that many members of the Green Party are urging him not to run for a variety of reasons. Of course, the Greens have suffered from the 2000 election backlash. Also, many Greens think the party will be stronger if they get more Greens elected to smaller, local offices first and not focus on prominent offices and national offices.
Nader, however, has said he will likely run once Kucinich steps out, because he really likes Kucinich. Nader is already setting up a presidential exploratory committee.
Can Nader be stopped? If not, will people vote for him this time?
Might he be just trying to broker some power? Will he run briefly, then drop out, and throw his support to the Dem nominee? He seems unlikely to support a Dem publicly given his statements about "corporate Democrats". But, he might be trying to influence the Democratic Party a bit.
