Assuming Kerry wins Wisconsin, which is likely, I think it will then be time for Dean and Edwards to drop out. Normally, it wouldn't matter if they stayed in for a couple of more weeks, but Super Tuesday contains expensive media markets in California and New York. For them to drain Kerry of resources just as Bush's ad campaign is likely to start would be totally counterproductive. As someone who has supported both Dean and Edwards, I can certainly appreciate that it is difficult to throw in the towel. But a win in Wisconsin will make it abundently clear to open-minded Democrats that Kerry is the voters' choice and that he will be the nominee. People who focus on the amount of delegates left to be chosen, and who dream of a brokered convention, are living in a fantasy world. If any year is less likely to have a brokered convention, it is this year.
I believe Edwards will drop out if he loses Wisconsin. Dean has now reversed himself and says he will continue. I can't believe he is serious about that. If he is, then he is on a kool-aid driven ego trip, and will eliminate any chance of being the nominee in '08 if Kerry is not elected. I hope he will reconsider after the results from Wisconsin are in, and we can began the process of healing and uniting in order to fight the real foe.
