NOTE: This is not my normal sort of post, merely a bit of poetry; mine and some favorites of mine. I am exhausted from just having moved from one place to another with my ten thousand pounds of useless crap. Where does it all come from? I swear I don't know. With all that's going on in this crazy world, I wanted to post something, and this is all I could muster. Hopefully you won't mind too much.
"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."
"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."
All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.
Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl
~ Dylan
I dreamed I was atop of a great hulking mountain,
And everywhere I looked I saw desolation.
Charred gutted buildings, twisted skeletal trees,
Cinders, ashes, the hush of death, a blood-soaked barren land.
The wind no longer howls in these parts - it moans.
ANGER!
He smiles telling him to shine him a metallic Purple armor.
Green jealousy, envy waits behind him, her fiery Green gown
snares at the grassy ground.
Blue are the life giving waters, taken for granted,
they quietly understand.
A once happy Turquois army lay opposite and ready
but wonder why the fight is on.
But they're are all bold as love
they're all bold as love
Yeah, they're all bold as love
Just ask the axis
~ Hendrix
I dreamed I was at the bottom of a deep cold well,
Looking back up at those who held me there.
They were laughin', smilin', havin' fun,
They were people without pity or mercy from above.
I remember wishing that I could help them, because I...was bold as love.
Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks
You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly
Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain
You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud
You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins
How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do
Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul
And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead
~ Dylan
I dreamed I lived in a small village in Iraq,
With houses, streets, and fences made of mud.
When planes filled the sky and bombs began to fall,
There was nowhere for anyone to run.
The ensuing silence was pierced by the cries and screams of those left living.
They say ev'rything can be replaced,
Yet ev'ry distance is not near.
So I remember ev'ry face
Of ev'ry man who put me here.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.
They say ev'ry man needs protection,
They say ev'ry man must fall.
Yet I swear I see my reflection
Some place so high above this wall.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.
~ Dylan
I dreamt of eternity in a dark dirty cell,
Where the meals weren't causes for celebration but despair.
I dreamed that the loneliness sucked up all the air,
And to live one was forced to breathe disease.
And dignity is dying on an iron cross, leaving only lies to be believed.
Dignity dying on an iron cross, leaving only lies to be believed.
Take away my inhibitions
Take away my solitude
Fire me up with your resistance
Put me in the mood
Storm the walls around this prison
Leave the inmates
Free the guards
Deal me up another future
From some brand new deck of cards
Take the chip off of my shoulder
Smooth out all the lines
Take me out among the rustling pines
Till it shines
Like an echo down a canyon
Never coming back as clear
Lately I just judge the distance
Not the words I hear
Ive been too long on these islands
Ive been far too long alone
Ive been too long without summer
In this winter home
Still if we can make the effort
If we take the time
Maybe we can leave this much behind
Till it shines
~ Bob Seeger
I dreamed it was possible to smooth out all the lines,
And that we did just that,
And I pray that we will.
Till it shines.
Peace out!
